I started my formal studies as an illustrator in 2008 at the school of art ´Arte 10´, in Madrid. Upon finishing, I started my career as a freelance illustrator sharing a studio in a multidisciplinary space, Utópic_us.
During my time in the studio I completed projects for a wide range of clients with many personal projects along the way. Being surrounded by many artists, photographers and designers allowed me to learn many new techniques, which opened new horizons and gave me a thirst for continued learning.
This desire for further education led me to Bath in 2013, where I studied Graphic Communication, at Bath Spa University (BA Hons 2.1). During my studies I continued completing freelance projects and was fortunate enough to work on animations for “The Big Draw” and “Bath Film Festival”. This gave me experience in After Effects and stop-motion animation, which I would like to develop a little more in the future.
After graduation I had a bit of free time to travel and I had the opportunity to spend a month in India, with a scholarship in the Uttarayan Foundation, an artist´s residency, experimenting with traditional printing processes, such as xylography and lithography.
In 2017, after this gap year, I moved back to the UK, where I worked full time in a studio designing greeting cards for Clintons, Paperchase and Caroline Gardner. This job often challenged me as many times the briefs were out of my comfort zone and pushed me to develop new styles and techniques. It also gave me a view of the commercial side of illustration and a good knowledge of fine finishes such as embossing / debossing.
Now I find myself living in London working as freelance illustrator looking for new projects and challenges!
